WEST BANK: Israeli forces on Friday detained two Palestinians and seized two vehicles mostly during multiple overnight raids across the southern and northern West Bank, said, witnesses to Palestine based WAFA news.
Backed by armoured vehicles, Israeli forces raided Hebron city’s southern part and Jabal Johar neighbourhood, where they detained two Palestinians and ransacked several homes.
They also conducted a raid into an al-Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron, in the southern West Bank, where they searched several homes and ransacked their contents.
Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers manning a flying checkpoint near Shavei Shomron Israeli settlement, west of Nablus, detained a Palestinian after ordering him of his vehicle.
The detainee, identified as 25-year-old resident of Kafr Ra’i village, southwest of Jenin, was reportedly on his way to work in Ramallah.
Forces also raided Al-Lubban Ash-Sharqiya village, south of Nablus, where they wreaked havoc into several homes and seized two vehicles.
A similar raid was reported in Al-Ymun town, west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, where Israeli troops conducted a search operation.
This came as Israeli military vehicles were extensively deployed in Muthalath Ash-Shuhada area and along the road leading to Bir al-Basha village, southwest of Jenin.
Similar heavy deployments were reported along the road connecting Qabatia town to Misilya village, south of Jenin.
This came over a week after a major military operation that left a 31-year-old Palestinian dead and four residential buildings demolished in Jenin city.
Israeli forces were apparently wanted to capture a member of the Jarrar family they believed was responsible for a shooting attack two weeks earlier that left an Israeli settler dead near Nablus, but he was able to get away.
