Prime suspect in Zainab rape case also holds previous criminal record

KASUR: Prime suspect in Zainab rape and murder case, Imran Ali, also holds a previous criminal record, according to a report by a private media outlet.
Imran Ali, who is currently under arrest for allegedly raping and murdering minor girls in Kasur, had a registered against him in Banni Police Station.
According to reports, Imran was accused of kidnapping a married woman in Rawalpindi’s Saidpur area.
Banni Police Station filed an FIR against Ali on August 30, 2017. However, after the victim’s family members forgave Ali, he was asked to pay a bail for Rs50,000 and set free.
Earlier, anchorperson Shahid Masood had claimed that the suspect Imran Ali maintained over 37 bank accounts, mostly foreign currency denominated, with transactions in dollars, euros and pounds sterling.
However, the claims were later found to be untrue by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and confirmed by Punjab government spokesperson Malik Ahmed Khan.
The story was given a new twist on Thursday, when Masood handed over to Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar two names written on a folded paper of people who, he claimed, were behind an international racket running a child pornography ring.
Later, while talking to journalists, he claimed that one of them was a sitting federal minister but kept the name secret, saying the disclosure might endanger the life of the suspected killer of the Kasur girl who was arrested on Tuesday.
