Supreme Court directs authorities to verify pilots’ degrees

KARACHI: The Supreme Court (SC) on Saturday directed the Interior Ministry and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to verify the degrees of all the pilots.
The authorities have been directed to verify the degrees by February 1.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar, during the hearing of the Naqeebullah killing case, summoned DG CAA over the issue of fake degrees of pilots.
He said that the SC will expect a reply from the relevant airlines and the CAA during a week.
On Friday, CJP Mian Saqib Nisar had asked the DG CAA Karachi to submit a record of the movement of private planes/jets on all airports during the last 15 days.
He had also asked the official to submit a report pertaining to appointments of pilots made on the basis of fake degrees or certificates.
